Research confirms that nutrition and physical activity impact a child’s ability to learn. Nutrition education is essential to cultivating healthy eating habits in children. This two-part course will provide you with knowledge and tools to incorporate nutrition education across the K-4 grades curriculum (math, science, language arts, health) with links to the Common Core Standards. Explore how to use nutrition, food, and technology to motivate your students to use critical thinking skills in making healthy food choices. Healthful snacks will be part of the class agenda and teachers will receive ready to use curriculum resources. Attendance is required for both classes.
